FAQ

What are the fees for Renew Wealth Management?

The annual fee starts at 1% of assets and decreases at higher asset levels (see chart). Enrollment minimum is $250,000. Fees for your enrolled account are based on daily asset levels and are applied at the end of each month. There are no withdrawal fees. We are a fee-only advisor, meaning we do not earn commissions. Our fees are based on a percentage of assets under management along with fixed rates for financial plans.

Billable Assets Fee Schedule
First $2 million 1.00%
Next $2 million (more than $2M up to $5M) 0.80%
Next $5 million (more than $5M up to $10M) 0.70%
Assets over $10 million 0.60%
Will householding reduce my total advisory fee?
Typically yes, by linking accounts the combined assets will reach our tiered fee schedule breakpoints faster. This can reduce your household's overall effective advisory fee.
What makes your firm different than traditional financial advisors?
Renew Wealth was founded by a military veteran. Our specialized expertise in military retirement plans, pensions, VA benefits, thrift savings plans, FERS, and financial disclosures allows us to provide customized guidance based on the unique needs of military and federal service families.
Do you only work with military veterans and federal employees?
While Veterans and Federal Civil Servants are our specialty, we help all types of individuals and families who can benefit from our financial expertise. Our services are open to non-military clients seeking guidance.
Are you a fiduciary advisor?
Yes, as a Registered Investment Advisor we adhere to fiduciary standards, meaning we are legally required to put your interests first in all advice and recommendations.
Where is my money kept?
In our advisory role, we never take custody of client assets. We utilize Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. and Altruist as the custodian of client accounts and as our primary broker. Our relationship with Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. and Altruist Financial LLC is an arm’s length transaction with no exchange of funds between Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., Altruist Financial LLC and us. When your account is established with Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. or Altruist Financial LLC, you provide us with limited trading authorization on your account. This authority allows us to process trades directly in client accounts.
How do I begin?
Typically, we only need a copy of your most recent account statement and your signatures on a few forms. We will take care of setting up your new account and transferring your assets.
What branch of service did your Founder serve in and what was his Military Occupational Specialty (MOS)?
He served in the US Army National Guard for over 20 years. His primary MOS was Air Defense Artillery Officer (14A) and secondary was Signal Officer (25A).
I'm a Navy veteran. Does the Founder root against Navy football when they play Army each year?
While the Founder has immense respect for the Naval Academy and their football program, he admits he may get a bit animated rooting for his Army Black Knights during the classic Army-Navy rivalry game each year. But he promises that when it comes to objectively managing finances, any team allegiances are left off the field. We take pride in serving veterans from all military branches with the utmost dignity and respect.

Pro Bono Services For Veterans

At Renew Wealth Management, we offer pro bono financial planning at no cost to military veterans and their families who cannot afford advisory services. We firmly believe that limited means should not prevent access to guidance that can improve financial lives. Veterans and their families have already sacrificed greatly to defend our country and freedom - financial hurdles should not stop them from securing their futures too. That's why as part of our commitment to those who served, we donate time and expertise to help map military families’ financial roadmaps and provide peace of mind.
